Held 17th – 19th October 2008

Our 1500th Run Milestone weekend has been and gone, and what a great weekend it was!
We even managed supurb Hash Weather . . .

Photographs from the weekend are posted in our Fota Gallery

On behalf of all of the attendees,
I would like to extend thanks to the organising committee, led by Point Two.
Because of the committee's hard work, the weekend was a great success.
Thanks must also go to those who chipped in and helped on the day.

Things kicked of on Friday night with a well attended social evening event at the Cats Football Club, Mermaid Waters.

Some hashers chose to go directly to the venue rather than attend the social evening. Under the supervision of the self appointed unoffical Friday Night Organiser (Pizza), they enjoyed an impromtu BBQ they enjoyed an impromptu BBQ, cooked to Pizza's exacting standards. A few stories (some exaggerated, some outright lies) were told around the campfire, helped along by a few throat lubricating liquid libations.

Saturday morning greeted us with blue skies. Some Hashers were notably quiet after Friday nights activities - this was no doubt due to smoke inhalation from the fire and nothing to do with the afore mentioned liquid libations!

Grand Canyon - Nosh TeamThe Nosh team had arrived bright and early and what seemed like mountains of bread and other food was unloaded into the kitchen.

The arrival of the portable cool room to house the drinks was a great sight to behold. And right on time at 10am, the first drinks of the weekend were dispensed.

Lunch was served at midday, ably served by Grand Canyon and the Nosh team. Hot Dogs and Salad Rolls were demolished by hungry hashers.

The assembled packHashers were assembled on the driveway and given their marching orders by the TrailMaster, Brave Fart.

And the runners are off . . . only to discover the first of many checks installed by that cunning fiend Gorgeous?Brave Fart was within the first 300m!

No hills, no checks - yeah, right!
The walkers were led off by Brave Fart's right hand man, Muff.

After much sweat, many hills and checks, we arrived at the drink stop were we were greeted by some gorgeous??? Hashers.

Back at the venue, a loud cry of CIRCLE UP YOU B*STARDS was heard, echoing of the buildings. The RA for the Day, Little Dogs called us to order and got proceedings under way. Down Downs for the usual suspects, Ice for others, Stiff Arm drinking for a select few.

Ice ! Little Dogs Stiff Arm

After the circle concluded, The Nosh team served up a late 'smoko'. Later on, a full Roast Dinner was served shortly after 7pm.

Music throughout the weekend, including to dance by on Saturday night was provided by Sir Rabbit.

Sunday morning had us awakened to the smell of cooking bacon as the Nosh Team was busy providing a cooked breakfast for 130 people.

On On,
Spiderman.
